A very warm welcome to the Sewell VI Form.
Choosing the right place to study after GCSEs is one of the most important decisions you will make in your life. The world is changing fast and it is so important that you have the opportunity to develop the knowledge and skills to meet these changes.
I believe you need three things from your chosen place of study.
The first is the chance to study the right qualifications at the appropriate level for you. This could be A Levels in subjects such as the Sciences, English, Maths, Humanities or the Arts or Level 3 vocational courses such as Sport or Health which are equivalent to A Levels but with a very different style of learning. Or you may wish to study a combination of both. You may want to study at Level 2 for further GCSEs or GCSE retakes to improve your grades. You can also take vocational courses at Levels 1 and 2 that will help you get an apprenticeship or allow you to progress on to the next Level and further study.
A good sixth form will offer you the full range of courses and will work in partnership with other schools to make sure you have access to as many courses as possible. The Sewell VI Form will work with you to find the right qualifications for you and will take your academic and personal circumstances into account.
The second is to study somewhere that already has an excellent reputation, good teaching and strong systems of support, guidance (e.g. on universities and careers) and care.
The third is the opportunity for you to develop important work and life skills, enjoy your learning and engage in other activities beyond the classroom.
I am proud to be the Principal of such a Sixth Form. The Sewell VI Form is an exciting and vibrant place to study. As a sixth form student you have an identity separate from the rest of the school. You are treated like an adult and encouraged to work with your teachers and tutor to develop as a learner and to prepare for the next phase of your life. We have an enviable reputation for the care and support of our students.
Our Drama, PE, Science, Design, Music and Arts facilities rival the best in Norwich.
When you join us you will be joining a sixth form with a good academic record, you will have the opportunity to make new friends and experience new challenges. You will have an excellent social life too! We will begin our year with a range of activities, at home and abroad to help you learn a little more about yourself as both an individual and member of a new team.
