What does it mean being in a Business & Enterprise school?

Sewell Park College is a specialist Business & Enterprise college.

Business & Enterprise schools follow the National Curriculum in the same way as other schools, but we also receive extra money from the government to pay for Business & Enterprise related activities and support the teaching of Business, Maths and ICT.

Will I have lessons in Business then?

Business is not directly part of the KS3 National Curriculum so you will not have any lessons in Business in Year 8 and 9. Business is taught in Year 10 and beyond and you will have the opportunity to choose from a wide variety of Business courses at the end of Year 9. In Years 8 and 9, you will study the KS3 Pre-Business Programme.

What's this Pre-Business Programme?

During Years 8 and 9, you will follow the Pre-Business Programme (the PBP). This is unique to Norwich and helps get you ready to study Business in Year 10 and prepare you for your future. The programme involves:

Special Let's Make days (fun off-timetable days with a Business & Enterprise theme)

Business & Enterprise activities in other subject areas

The Passport to Enterprise

Additionally, there are a wide variety of curricular and extra-curricular activities such as Dragonfire, Young Enterprise, ProShare, Sowing the Seeds etc. which you will have the chance to take part in.
